Treatment of constipation due to pelvic floor dysfunction in women

Female pelvic floor dysfunctional disorders, also known as pelvic floor defects or pelvic floor support tissue relaxation, are common and prevalent in middle-aged and elderly women, with a prevalence of about 40%, and the number of incidences increases with age. The specific manifestation is pelvic organ prolapse with constipation and urinary incontinence. Traditional surgical methods include open transabdominal, laparoscopic and transvaginal paths, but they suffer from many post-surgical complications, easy recurrence and difficult surgery. The anorectal department adopts a new surgical method, namely IVS sling transvaginal suspension, which is increasingly accepted by patients because it is less traumatic, less painful for patients, faster postoperative recovery, and better efficacy. Multidisciplinary cooperation can also be used, choosing acupuncture, herbal medicine and biofeedback methods, which are safe and effective.
