Early ct manifestations of hydrocephalus The sequence of ventricular enlargement is the early appearance of the temporal horn of the lateral ventricle, then the anterior horn of the lateral ventricle, followed by the enlargement of the three ventricles and the body and posterior horn of the lateral ventricle, and finally the enlargement of the four ventricles. Therefore, paying attention to the enlargement of the temporal horn of the lateral ventricle and its change in tension is the key to early diagnosis of hydrocephalus. The order of obstructive hydrocephalus and traffic hydrocephalus is the same, except that the ventricles below the obstruction of obstructive hydrocephalus are not enlarged. The concept of normal pressure hydrocephalus Normal pressure hydrocephalus is a special type of traffic hydrocephalus, which mostly occurs at the basis of chronic traffic hydrocephalus. The compensatory regulation function makes the secretion decrease and the absorption function of partially intact arachnoid granules compensate faster, thus forming a new equilibrium. Although the ventricular system is enlarged, the cerebrospinal fluid pressure is normal or near normal, so it is called normal pressure hydrocephalus. CT manifestations: general enlargement of the ventricular system and deepening of the sulcus, but the two are disproportionate, with more significant enlargement of the ventricles. After successful hydrocephalus shunt ct manifestations: 1. Ventricular shrinkage gradually returns to normal size, shape or close to normal; 2. Paraventricular interstitial edema scene disappears; 3. Sulcus returns to normal or slightly widens.
