TI-RADS category 3 is a categorical description of thyroid nodules by thyroid ultrasound. Thyroid nodules in category 3 and below are benign, and there are two main principles for the treatment of these nodules: First, you can follow up and observe the thyroid ultrasound every six months or a year to see if there are any obvious changes in the size and shape of the nodule. Second, if the nodule is large or if there is pressure on the surrounding tissue, surgical treatment can be considered. However, for benign nodules, patients are advised to follow up and observe, and surgical treatment is not considered for the time being. If the nodule is observed after six months or a year, and the nodule is significantly larger than before, early surgical removal is also recommended.
