In recent years, reports of pharmacogenic liver damage caused by herbal preparations have also been on the rise, including detoxification capsules. This is mainly due to the alkaloids and toxic plant proteins of herbs that can cause lipid peroxidation, damage mitochondria, or bind to enzymes or proteins in tissues causing cell necrosis or apoptosis. The precautions for detoxification capsules also point out that it should be used with caution by allergic individuals. It was reported that a 36-year-old female patient with a history of drug allergy developed a fixed drug rash after taking detoxification capsules, which was considered to be related to the use of detoxification capsules. Therefore, the presence of allergies and the first application require attention to allergic reactions.
