Gout foot pain how to quickly relieve

Sudden single joint redness, swelling and heat pain is the main symptom of acute gout attack, and it is most common in the joints of the lower extremity feet, especially the first metatarsal phalangeal joint. For foot pain caused by gout, relevant drugs should be applied in a timely and adequate amount to relieve clinical symptoms. The drugs commonly used in the treatment of acute gout attacks are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics, colchicine and glucocorticoids. During the acute attack of gout, if there is no obvious contraindication, it is currently recommended that treatment should be carried out as early as possible (generally within 24 hours), and NSAIDs are often preferred, such as etoricoxib, diclofenac sodium, celecoxib and loxoprofen sodium, etc. However, attention should be paid to the cardiovascular and gastrointestinal adverse effects of drugs. Colchicine is a traditional drug for the treatment of acute gout attacks, but it has been used less frequently because of its more adverse effects. Therefore, colchicine is only considered for patients in the acute stage of gout who have contraindications to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers. Of course, there are a small number of people who have a good treatment effect of colchicine when they have a gout attack, and colchicine can be preferred for these patients. If the patient’s condition is serious, the effect of conventional drug treatment is not good, or there are contraindications to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers and colchicine, short-term use of glucocorticoids can be considered to control the symptoms, using small and medium doses, oral, intramuscular or intravenous injections can be used, but the symptoms are easy to “rebound” after stopping the drug. In addition, it is recommended to apply ice and reduce joint activities during acute attacks to reduce joint pain and swelling. In summary, patients with foot pain caused by gout should be seen in a timely manner, and appropriate medication should be applied in a timely and adequate manner according to the patient’s condition to relieve the symptoms, and a long-term treatment plan for uric acid control should be developed in time for pain relief.
