In today’s society, economic conditions are generous, food, clothing, housing and transportation are not a concern, and the diet structure has changed greatly. Hyperuricemia is a group of diseases caused by hereditary and/or acquired reduction in uric acid excretion and (or) impaired purine metabolism in the body, resulting in an increase in blood uric acid. It can be accompanied by hypertension, hyperlipidemia, type 2 diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance and other diseases, and can also cause uric acid nephropathy, kidney stones and renal failure, so the danger of hyperuricemia should not be underestimated. So, how to control the occurrence of hyperuricemia through diet? Simply put, there are “three lows”, “three more” and “three taboos”. 1, three low: ① low purine intake, forbidden or less food containing high purine, such as animal offal, sardines, anchovies, thick gravy soup, soybeans and algae; ② low fat diet, reduce the intake of fat, especially animal fat; ③ low salt diet, salt intake is controlled within 6.0g / d. 2, three more: ① drink more water, even if you are not thirsty, take the initiative to drink water, drink 2000-3000ml per day, or keep the daily urine volume > 1500ml; ② eat more alkaline food, such as; yam, lotus root, citrus, watermelon, kelp, eggs, milk, potatoes, etc.; ③ do more aerobic exercise, such as mountain climbing, long-distance running, etc., generally 3-5 times/week. Each time the time depends on the patient’s condition, but should avoid excessive exercise. 3, three taboos: ① prohibit alcohol; ② avoid using drugs that elevate uric acid, such as diuretics (especially thiazides), glucocorticoids, aspirin, etc.; ③ avoid obesity. 4.Staple food: mainly carbohydrates, ensure that the intake of staple food accounts for about 60% of the total calories, and control the intake of protein according to the condition, mainly milk and eggs without nuclear protein, generally 0.6~1.0g/(kg・d). Hyperuricemia is not terrible, as long as we start from diet and control our mouth, we can prevent its occurrence or delay its progress, let’s work together to maintain our health!
