Can liver function be abnormal in liver cancer?

Generally, in early stage liver cancer, there is no abnormality in liver function, because the size and number of cancer masses in early stage are small, and the remaining liver can fully meet the human body’s needs, so the liver function is generally normal. In middle stage liver cancer patients, most of them have no abnormal liver function, but a few of them may have abnormal liver function. Although the size of cancer mass increases and the number of cancer mass increases, the remaining liver is sufficient to meet the human body’s needs. In advanced stage of liver cancer, because the cancer masses are larger and more in number, if the remaining normal liver is less than 30%, it cannot meet the human body’s needs and liver function abnormalities will appear. If liver function abnormalities are found, blood tests should be conducted first. If transaminases and bilirubin are high, liver preservation treatment and anti-yellowing treatment should be given, and other treatments should be carried out after the body recovers.
