What is cardiogenic shock?

Cardiogenic shock refers to the decline of heart function leading to peripheral circulatory insufficiency, acute failure of several organs in the whole body, which eventually causes shock. In short, cardiogenic shock is a problem with the pumping function of the heart, which reduces the amount of blood discharged by the heart and fails to ensure the supply of cardiac output, thus causing a drop in blood pressure, and some vital organs also suffer from insufficient blood supply, such as insufficient blood supply to the brain, which will lead to cerebral ischemia, hypoxia, and triggering shock. Once cardiogenic shock occurs, it can easily lead to the death of the patient. If cardiogenic shock occurs, the condition is often more serious, we must make timely and correct treatment, such as adjusting the patient’s posture, maintain supine position, head, lower limbs moderately elevated, and then timely medical treatment with the doctor to give oxygen therapy, to ensure that the patient’s breathing, and actively cooperate with the professional doctor to take the next step in effective treatment measures.
