Vascular dementia is usually caused by ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke and cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, etc. Patients can be treated through general treatment, symptomatic treatment and rehabilitation therapy as prescribed by doctors.
1. General treatment: Eat less high cholesterol food such as eggs and animal offal, and eat more high water and high vitamin food such as green vegetables, winter melon and fruits. Secondly, we should ensure enough sleep time, so that the brain nerves can get rest and relaxation, and also can carry out appropriate exercise.
2. Symptomatic treatment: patients can take oral aspirin tablets, atorvastatin and other anti-platelet aggregation, plaque stabilizing drugs, and also need to control hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and other risk factors, so as to prevent recurrence of stroke and aggravation of dementia. Drugs to promote brain cell metabolism and improve cognition, such as cytarabine and olanzapine, can be given for symptomatic treatment.
3. Rehabilitation therapy: patients with vascular dementia often suffer from symptoms of brain damage, such as speech disorder, hemiparesis, hemiplegia, hemiplegic sensory disorder, dystonia, ataxia and so on. Rehabilitation of swallowing function and limb movement function should be carried out.
It is recommended that patients with vascular dementia should go to the hospital in time and choose the appropriate treatment plan under the guidance of the doctor to avoid delaying the condition and causing adverse consequences.
Drugs need to be used under the guidance of a physician, do not take carefully.
