The Road to Lung Cancer Cure Proper Face Scientific Treatment Exercise Body and Mind According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2008, cancer has become the first direct cause of human death. Lung cancer tops the incidence rate of all cancers, which is about 21.96/100,000. Although the cure rate of lung cancer is not high, it is possible to cure lung cancer from the valuable information provided by “Dr. Cancer” in this newspaper. Therefore, I would like to summarize the experience of “Dr. Cancer” to raise the awareness of people in our province in lung cancer prevention and treatment. Cancer is difficult and expensive to treat, but the diagnosis of cancer is not the end of the world. As most of the “cancer doctors” wrote: nowadays, medical technology is high and medical equipment is advanced (e.g. radiotherapy has entered the era of “precision radiotherapy”, and the People’s Hospital of our province has taken the lead in introducing the image guided radiotherapy system, i.e. IGRT). New drugs for lung cancer treatment are coming out all the time, and the information channels for specialists are open, so they can keep pace with the most advanced level in the world. Treating lung cancer just requires a correct mindset. That is to actively cooperate with the completion of standardized treatment, and not to be frightened by cancer and lose the courage to treat it. For example, Comrade Chen Zhejian summed up a truth through several years of fighting with cancer: “To be a high-quality cancer patient first of all, one must always have a good mentality, and to maintain this good mentality, one must achieve the three pleasures of contentment, helping others and self-enjoyment.” “It is not scary for a person to have cancer, what is scary is that he does not have the courage to fight with cancer.” Cancer treatment cycle is long, and all kinds of treatment methods have certain toxic side effects. The precious thing is that these “cancer doctors” have the faith to win and overcome all the difficulties in the treatment and complete the treatment plan made by the clinicians for them. What is especially worth mentioning is that their family members also have the right attitude towards cancer, not giving up, not giving up, and being the strong support of the “cancer doctors”. In 1999, Tubiana concluded that 45% of malignant tumors can be cured, of which 22% can be cured by surgery, 18% by radiotherapy and 5% by chemotherapy. Most of the people in the “Dr. Cancer” article were given the opportunity for surgical resection (of course, those who had surgery for lung cancer had early tumor stage, which itself is an important factor for better prognosis), post-operative adjuvant chemotherapy or/and radiotherapy, and longer-term TCM maintenance treatment. The staging of lung cancer determines the choice of treatment. China’s lung cancer treatment guidelines are mainly formed by referring to the guidelines issued by the NCCN (The National Comprehensive Cancer Network) organization and combining them with China’s specific reality. Of course, our national economy and living standard are still low, regional development is unbalanced, and the information of doctors and patients is asymmetrical, so there is still a long way to go for the promotion of standardized lung cancer treatment. In my long-term clinical work, I found that some patients were not adequately examined by clinicians before treatment, and the tumor stage of patients was not accurately grasped; or they were not treated according to the guidelines of lung cancer treatment at all, thus the patients did not benefit from the treatment to the greatest extent. Therefore, I urge that once a friend or relative has cancer, do not rush to the doctor, but choose a brand-name hospital and doctor with better medical conditions. Exercise physically and mentally Most of the “cancer doctors” have consciously joined some appropriate cultural and sports activities, such as “senior citizen art group” and “senior citizen university”, after their illnesses have been cured. He has quit some bad habits such as smoking and drinking. Jogging, taijiquan, mountain climbing, hiking, etc., to breathe fresh air and cultivate their sentiments in the magnificent mountains and beautiful nature of our country. Others joined the “Wuhan Cancer Rehabilitation Association” and integrated into the society, which not only enriched themselves but also helped others. For example, Professor Huang Tao of Wuhan Union Medical College Hospital has a very healthy and lovely son, and he is a professor and doctoral supervisor. A good living environment, a relaxed state of mind and useful cultural and sports activities are certainly strong guarantees for a healthy body. Of course, the prevention and treatment of lung cancer is a long way to go. Good living habits and a relaxed social and living environment are important factors to prevent the occurrence of lung cancer, but once lung cancer occurs, do not feel pity for others and give up on yourself. After receiving scientific treatment and reintegrating into social life, and maintaining a healthy body and mind, they will surely live a long and quality life.
