Attention to the development of pediatric genitalia

There are various congenital disorders in the genitalia of boys that seriously affect the physical and mental health of children and are easily ignored by parents, delaying treatment and causing serious damage to the physical and mental development of children. Therefore, parents are urged to pay attention to the development of their children’s genitalia, especially in the following cases, please seek medical attention in a timely manner. 1.Cryptorchidism When a boy is born, under normal circumstances, both testicles have descended into the scrotum. If you find that the testicles are not found in the scrotum of your child, you should immediately take your child to the hospital for examination and timely formulation of a reasonable treatment plan, otherwise, treatment after the age of 2. This may cause male infertility or testicular tumor due to the decrease of semen quality when the child becomes an adult. If you find that your child’s subcutaneous fat pad on the pubic bone is thick and protrudes so that the penis body cannot be revealed, it may be “occult penis”, so you should take your child to the hospital as early as possible to avoid affecting the normal development of the penis and having an impact on the future psychological and sexual life. 3.Urethral hypospadias or urethral epispadias If you find that your child is prone to wetting his or her pants or the position of the urethral opening is abnormal in the coronal groove of the penis, the penis body or the perineum, your child may suffer from congenital hypospadias or urethral epispadias, which, if not treated in a timely manner, will affect the physical and mental health of the child after puberty, affect sexual life and development, and lead to serious psychological disorders. 4.Circumcision refers to the narrowing of foreskin opening or adhesion between foreskin and penis, so that foreskin cannot be turned up to expose the head of penis. Circumcision is an important cause of penile cancer. In case of prepuce, foreskin scale can easily accumulate in the foreskin cavity, which can cause chronic stimulation to the head of penis, thus leading to the occurrence of penile cancer. If your child is found to have the above mentioned condition, you should take your child to hospital for surgery in time, which can prevent the occurrence of penile cancer and facilitate the normal development of penis. 5.Iguinal hernia or traffic sheath effusion If your child has inguinal mass or scrotal enlargement when crying or coughing, and the mass subsides when lying down or resting, it is likely to be inguinal hernia or traffic sheath effusion, so we suggest your child to consult a doctor as soon as possible, otherwise there is a possibility of entrapment, which may affect the development of testicles by compression.
