Every year on Kidney Disease Day, kidney disease organizations at all levels will carry out a variety of charity clinics and consultation activities, and our hospital is no exception. According to a large epidemiological survey, the prevalence of chronic kidney disease among adults in China is 10.8%, and the prevention and treatment of kidney disease is urgent. The theme of this year’s Kidney Disease Day is “Prevention and Control of Chronic Kidney Disease in the Elderly”. With the arrival of an aging society, coupled with the fact that the kidney filtration function of adults decreases at a rate of 1% per year after the age of 40, there is no doubt that there are more and more elderly patients with kidney disease, and there is a long way to go to prevent and treat kidney disease.      At the event, Chen Xiaolan, director of the Nantong Nephrology Society and director of Nephrology Department of Nantong University Hospital, introduced that since chronic kidney disease is an invisible killer, the most important thing is to prevent and treat it early. First, it is necessary to develop good habits, low-salt diet, drink more water and urinate more often.
