What is plasma therapy for convalescents? For whom?

Immune plasma from people recovering from New Coronary Pneumonia contains antibodies to the virus, which act to neutralize the antigen and thus provide some relief to the patient. The use of plasma products from people who have recovered from NCCP in the treatment of patients with NCCP is known as convalescent plasma therapy.

Recovery plasma therapy can be used for patients with rapid disease progression, heavy and critical types, preferably within 2 weeks of disease onset, when there is still viral replication or viremia in the patient’s body, and using recovery plasma can rapidly neutralize the virus in the blood, reduce the inflammatory response, curb disease deterioration, and improve the prognosis. However, in dying patients, plasma therapy is not very useful due to organ failure.
