  Patients in the early stage of liver cancer have symptoms of indigestion such as loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, etc. As the disease progresses, the symptoms can be further aggravated due to emotional fluctuations and anti-tumor treatment, and if no timely measures are taken, malnutrition will occur, which will lead to weight loss, lower resistance, infection and even cachexia.  Nutritional care must be paid attention to before, during and after anti-tumor treatment. Therefore, diet care is an important part of liver cancer treatment and should be given according to different age, gender and disease type, and according to different treatment measures.  1.Nutrition should be comprehensive and cooking should be reasonable.  Easy to digest, nutritious, to ensure that the patient’s caloric and nutritional requirements. Therefore, food should be mainly boiled, steamed or stewed, and hard and crispy foods such as fried and deep-fried should be avoided as much as possible. For liver cancer patients, hard and crispy spicy products can cause serious complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding.  2.Nutrition after surgery and radiotherapy.  (1) After surgery, it is appropriate to give high protein and high vitamin diet, such as egg, pig liver, yellow fish, perch, Mandarin fish, pomegranate, banana, carrot, lemon, watermelon, etc.  (2) After radiotherapy, it is advisable to give nourishing and moistening foods that strengthen the spleen and appetite, such as yam, lentils, water chestnuts, pears, winter melon, grapes, wild rice, sweet orange, eggs, quail eggs, bird’s nest, etc.  (3) After chemotherapy, foods that benefit the qi and strengthen the spleen and nourish the blood and detoxify the body are recommended, such as stewed snapper, crucian carp, animal liver, goose blood, eggs, winter melon, red dates, coix seeds, yam, radish, lotus root, orange, tomato, soybean sprouts, etc.  (4) In the late stage of liver cancer, light, soft, easily digestible, appetizing and nutritious foods are recommended, such as adzuki beans, yam, coix seeds, winter melon, watermelon, carp, carrot, white radish, cucumber, bitter melon, etc.
