What is the new method of uterine artery embolization to avoid ovarian damage?

Embolization of the uterine artery in adenomyosis is an effective treatment for dysmenorrhea, but because the uterine artery has branches of the ovarian artery, embolization should pay attention to the protection of the branch arteries, otherwise the ovaries are easily damaged. In this patient, the ovarian branch and the intrauterine branch appeared at the same time. It was impossible to protect the ovary by embolization material and speed method, and finally, steel ring embolization was used after superselective cannulation to the ovarian branch to protect the ovary from embolization particles entering the ovary. Although superselective cannulation of the ovarian branches from the uterine artery was previously considered an impossible task (because of the extremely tortuous vessels), the success of this case proved that it is possible in some cases. A new method of ovarian protection by uterine artery embolization has been added to the list!
