The color of gallstones is usually brown or black, but of course some gallstones are yellow, golden yellow, or green. This is mainly determined by the composition of the stones and the length of time they have been in the patient’s body, or the presence of acute inflammation of the gallbladder. Stones inside the gallbladder may be single stones or multiple stones, large stones, or mud-like stones, the size of a grain of rice or a green bean. If a patient has stones in the gallbladder with gallbladder lesions, such as chronic inflammation or acute inflammation, often with abdominal pain and distension, surgical treatment needs to be considered. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which means that the stones inside the gallbladder are removed together with the gallbladder, is usually used.
