Esophageal cardia achalasia is also known as cardia spasm and megaesophagus. It is a disease caused by neuromuscular dysfunction of the esophagus, which mainly manifests clinically as difficulty in swallowing, food reflux and discomfort or pain behind the lower sternum. The disease occurs in young and middle-aged people, with a long duration of illness and good general condition, symptoms are sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and it is related to mental tension. According to Chinese medicine, this disease is caused by emotional and mental disorders, qi knots and phlegm condensation, or uncontrolled diet, damaging the spleen and stomach and causing abnormal elevation. In the early stage of the disease, most of the symptoms are caused by Qi and phlegm condensation, with food choking, pain and obstruction in the stomach and chest. In the later stage, it is mostly due to the weakness of the spleen and stomach, with distention and fullness, abdominal pain, reduced food intake, or vomiting, loose stools, and fatigue. Massage therapy for the short duration of the disease, no comorbidities, is a phlegm and gas cross block type to take effect quickly and effectively; for the long duration of the disease, accompanied by chronic spleen and stomach disease, long-term persistence is required to see results. When using massage techniques, the movements should be calm and strong, pointing to the chest should follow the patient’s breathing, exhale when the force. (2) In a supine position, the family member uses the index finger and middle finger to push straight down from Yanglingquan to the ankle along the lateral side of the calf, repeatedly for 3 minutes; then the thumb end is used to press and rub the foot Sanli point for 2 minutes.
