Varicocele is present in 15% of normal men and 40% of them suffer from male infertility. About 70% of patients with secondary infertility have varicocele as the underlying cause. The World Health Organization considers varicocele to be closely related to testicular impairment and infertility. There are 3 degrees of varicocele. Adult men with varicocele are considered for surgery if the following 4 conditions match 1.The couple is infertile. 2.The female partner has normal fertility or the female partner is infertile but can be treated. 3, Physical examination can palpate the varicocele or confirm the diagnosis by ultrasound. 4.Adult men with varicocele and abnormal semen examination. Varicocele surgery can not only improve sperm vitality, density and morphology, but also increase serum follicle stimulating hormone and testosterone levels.
