The determination of the method of kidney stone discharge depends on the location, size and number of stones. A. Kidney stones are small, usually less than 0.6mm, shallow location, can be discharged on their own, without oral medication, by drinking more water, urinating more often and exercising vigorously. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy can be seen in patients with shallow location, large individuals and obvious symptoms. The results are not exactly the same because of the different textures of the stones. Thirdly, surgical stone extraction, seen in deeper stones and more in number, such as bilateral kidney stones, can treat the side with less kidney stones first and put in ureteral stent for surgical stone extraction treatment. Therefore, the method of kidney stone removal should be determined according to different conditions.
