What should I do if I have liver cancer?

Liver cancer is a common malignant tumor worldwide, and China is a high incidence area of liver cancer, and the current incidence rate is increasing year by year, the reason is related to the fact that China is a high incidence area of hepatitis B. At present, many patients are examined for liver cancer or because of clinical symptoms, and once liver cancer is detected, some people panic and do not know what to do, and together with the fear of cancer, they often lose their confidence in life. Then, what should be done after liver cancer is detected? Establish the confidence to overcome the disease and maintain an optimistic attitude Clinically, many patients often panic and lose confidence after they find out they have liver cancer, as if the end is coming, but in fact, it is not necessary. In fact, there is no need to do so. As the old saying goes, people eat grains and cereals, how can they not grow sick? It is a natural phenomenon to grow sick, so we should face it positively after finding out. Maintaining a positive attitude is very important for both patients and families. For patients themselves, an optimistic and positive attitude can enhance the confidence of overcoming the disease; thus mobilizing the body’s positive defense mechanism and enhancing the body’s immunity, which is more conducive to the treatment of the disease, and can also infect other relatives in the family, knowing that when a tumor is found in a relative, the family’s mood will sometimes be harder and heavier than the patient. On the contrary, the optimistic and positive mood of relatives will also enhance the confidence of patients to overcome the disease. You should know that with the development of medical science, new treatment technologies are emerging constantly, and the treatment effect for some early liver cancer is still good, and some early detected liver cancer can survive for a long time after treatment, even some for many years. As mentioned above, with the development of medical science and social progress, new treatment technologies are constantly emerging, and the treatment of liver cancer has developed from only a few treatments in the past to the application of multiple technologies. As we all know, the traditional treatment for tumor includes surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, Chinese medicine and so on. For early stage liver cancer without symptoms, surgical resection can be adopted together with drug treatment, but it should be selected appropriately according to the patient’s physical condition, such as whether there is severe cirrhosis, whether there are other diseases, etc. Not every early stage liver cancer can be operated. With the development of interventional medicine, there are now many effective minimally invasive treatments for liver cancer, such as hepatic artery chemoembolization (TACE), percutaneous puncture drug injection, radiofrequency ablation, microwave therapy, argon helium knife therapy, gene therapy, immunotherapy, etc. These minimally invasive treatments are not only less traumatic, faster recovery and more effective, but also can significantly prolong the survival time of patients. The combined application of several interventional methods can even achieve good results, so the integrated treatment of interventional methods is advocated for liver cancer. Avoiding drug abuse and excessive treatment After discovering liver cancer, patients and family members are often anxious to use all the methods they can find, such as chemotherapy drugs, traditional Chinese medicine, prescriptions, etc., but the result is often counterproductive and patients have limited survival time. Because liver is the detoxification organ of human body, all the drugs taken have to be detoxified and metabolized in liver; while chemotherapy drugs or other drugs for malignant tumor treatment often have certain toxicity, too many drugs not only cannot play a therapeutic effect, but also increase the burden of liver and destroy the liver function, on the other hand, they also destroy the body’s own defense mechanism, so that the patient’s body cannot tolerate and die prematurely. Therefore, it is necessary to use drugs reasonably and appropriately according to the patient’s physical condition, so as to receive satisfactory therapeutic effects and not to damage the body. Like other malignant tumors, the treatment effect of liver cancer is closely related to the early and late stage of the disease. Early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment often have better effect, while the treatment effect of late stage tumors is not ideal. Therefore, early detection should be emphasized. If you have a history of hepatitis or cirrhosis, you should have regular liver examination, including liver function, AFP, liver ultrasound or CT examination, and if you usually feel pain and discomfort in the right upper abdomen, reduced appetite, rapid weight loss, abdominal distension and other symptoms, you should go to hospital for relevant examination in time to avoid delaying the disease.
