Concerned about thyroid nodules in men

  Concerned men with thyroid nodules are now experiencing a dramatic increase in the rate of malignant lesions. Especially in young and old patients.  We conducted a clinical analysis study of a total of 2132 patients who underwent thyroidectomy at the First Hospital of China Medical University from 2006-2011, focusing on male thyroid nodules, with the following results: benign patients totaled 1595 (74.81%), malignant patients totaled 537 (25.18%) malignant/malignant = 2.97:1 male patients totaled 482, female patients totaled 1650 cases female/male = 3.42:1 Total number of men by age (%) Number of malignant (%) 5~20 years old: 289 (32%) 12 (42.86%) ~45 years old: 787 168 (21.35%) 266 (28.72%) ~60 years old: 1035 232 (22.42%) 203 (19.61%) ~85 years old: 281  73(25.98%) 55(19.57%) (The youngest patient was 5 years old and the oldest patient was 85 years old)
