Calf pain is most often caused by degenerative diseases of the spine, such as lumbar spinal stenosis and lumbar disc herniation. Leg pain is caused by compression of nerve roots in the nerve canal when spinal disorders occur. By treating the compression caused by lumbar spine diseases, the compressed nerves can be “freed” and the leg pain can be relieved.
