What does a strong echogenic thyroid nodule mean?

The presence of strong echogenicity in a thyroid nodule is generally a manifestation of imaging during an ultrasound, and generally represents a calcified manifestation of an occupying thyroid gland. A strong echogenic thyroid nodule with calcification is a sign of a tumor, but it is not necessarily a sign of thyroid cancer. Some benign thyroid nodules may also show calcification. Therefore, it is important to be cautious when there are strong echogenicity and calcification in thyroid nodules. It should be further observed or reviewed periodically, or thyroid cytopathological puncture can be done under ultrasound guidance to find out whether it is malignant through pathological testing.
