How to deal with vomiting and diarrhea in babies?

Vomiting and diarrhea in children is a common occurrence in daily life, especially in small children, who always have diarrhea a few times a year, which parents often mishandle, causing our babies to suffer a lot more. Here is a brief description of how to handle it, so don’t be caught off guard. If your baby is less than 6 months old: After vomiting or diarrhea occurs, stop feeding temporarily, either for breastfed babies or formula-fed babies, and replace the anti-diarrheal formula. If your baby is 6 months old or older: By this time, your baby has generally added complementary foods, so you can stop feeding formula or breast milk and eat rice flour, noodles, porridge and other well-digested foods. These apply to all babies: 1, try not to drink plain water, families with conditions can buy “oral rehydration salts” for their babies to the pharmacy.       Usage: Oral rehydration salts I, II, each bag with 500 ml of water to dissolve fully. Oral rehydration salts III, add 250 ml of water to each bag and dissolve fully. Use as a substitute for daily drinking water. Add oral probiotics to help establish intestinal flora, commercially available gold bifidus, memory live, etc. are available. 2, serious diarrhea baby, stools are watery, we should use Similac. Be sure to pay attention to the dosage, in order to maximize the effect.         Usage: Add 50 ml of water to each packet of Similac and do not eat or drink for half an hour before and after taking the medicine. Depending on the condition, 2 to 3 times a day. 3, vomiting serious baby, drinking water into, eating into, eating and drinking are vomiting baby, first rest half a day (generally hungry not bad). Then each time a small amount of water.       For example: one sip of 5 ml of oral rehydration salt, observe for a few minutes without vomiting. Then drink 2-3 sips of 5ml. Slowly increase the amount. If you do not vomit after several sips of water, consider adding food and also make sure you eat less and more. What to observe? The most important thing for babies with vomiting and diarrhea is undoubtedly the loss of fluids. Observe your baby for signs of dehydration, depression, pale or gray skin, poor elasticity, sunken front self and eye sockets, dry mucous membranes, depressed abdomen, fast pulse, reduced blood pressure and urine output, and few or no tears when crying. This is a sign that the baby is dehydrated and the above methods are no longer sufficient to meet the baby’s loss and requires medical attention. Some babies may also have fever (see my previous article on how to deal with fever) and cough when they vomit or have diarrhea, which also require prompt medical attention. Vomiting and diarrhea can be very aggressive, but as long as they are handled properly and the gastrointestinal tract is rested with strict diet control, the symptoms can be relieved very quickly.
