Where did the new coronavirus come from?

Novel coronavirus pneumonia is an acute infectious pneumonia whose pathogen is a newly identified coronavirus in humans. It has been found that the likely natural host of the novel coronavirus is a bat and that the virus is more than 85% homologous to the bat SARS-like coronavirus. The first case of novel coronavirus pneumonia, was discovered on December 12, 2019. Novel coronavirus pneumonia is highly contagious, mainly through droplet transmission, contact transmission, and fecal-oral transmission. Most cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia have a good prognosis, while a few are critically ill and can even be fatal.
