Gout does not cause hip pain. Gout is a joint lesion, which is related to excessive uric acid and often causes redness, swelling and pain in the joints, and can cause kidney disease and pain and discomfort in the kidney area and lower back. However, the hip does not show lesions because of its proximity and is sometimes confused with hip pain.
