After radical treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, patients may have a chance of long-term survival. However, liver cancer has its special biological characteristics and the recurrence rate is still high, with about half of the patients recurring within 5 years. Cases that are more prone to recurrence after hepatocellular carcinoma include: multiple lesions (greater than or equal to 3); postoperative cases suggesting cancer thrombus in the vasculature; postoperative AFP not reduced to normal for three months; patients with ruptured liver cancer; lymph node metastasis found before surgery; residual lesions in postoperative DSA examination; postoperative pathology suggesting positive cut edge. If you run into such a situation, you should pay high attention to it. After so many years of research on liver cancer, there is still no definite method to prevent recurrence. Although antiviral, improving body immune function and applying doxorubicin can reduce the recurrence rate, its effect is not good. Workers engaged in clinical and basic research of liver cancer research have a long way to go!
