Can bone metastasis of rectal cancer still be treated?

Patients with rectal cancer are prone to bone metastasis. After bone metastasis occurs, it can still be treated actively, and this treatment can be divided into two parts. 1. for pain caused by bone metastasis, strategies such as local radiotherapy plus surgical fixation are adopted. 2. for rectal cancer, surgery, or simultaneous radiotherapy and chemotherapy are used, together with systemic treatment and chemotherapy, anti-tumor angiogenesis treatment, such as bevacizumab or if there are EGFR, KRAS, NRAS, BRAF wild type, targeted drugs such as Epiduo can also be used. NRAS, BRAF wild type, targeted drugs such as Epiduo can also be used, and immunotherapy drugs can also be added if there is an indication for immunotherapy. Therefore, although bone metastasis occurs in rectal cancer, it is still possible to adopt an active treatment strategy, and the 5-year survival rate is about 10%-20%.
