Rheumatic diseases cannot be cured, but they can be well controlled by general treatment, medication and surgery.
Rheumatic diseases are a group of chronic diseases that involve bones and joints and their surrounding soft tissues (such as muscles, tendons, synovium, bursa, ligaments and cartilage, etc.) as well as other related tissues and organs. They mainly include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, ankylosing spondylitis, primary dry syndrome and vasculitis. This group of diseases cannot be cured, but can be controlled through standardized treatment.
1. General treatment: pay attention to rest, avoid exertion, joint braking in the acute stage of the disease, and joint function training in the recovery stage.
2. Drugs: Commonly used drugs in the treatment of rheumatic diseases include glucocorticosteroids such as prednisone, methylprednisolone, etc.; immunosuppressants such as methotrexate, cyclophosphamide, azathioprine, etc.; biologics such as abatacept, rituximab, etc.; and NSAID such as ibuprofen, etc. All of the above drugs should be prescribed according to the doctor’s instructions. All of the above drugs should be chosen according to the patient’s condition as prescribed by the doctor.
3. Surgery: Patients with severe synovial membrane lesions can undergo synovectomy to relieve joint pain. Patients with deformed or dysfunctional joints can have their joints replaced with artificial joints to improve their joint function.
Although rheumatic diseases cannot be cured, they can be well controlled through timely and standardized treatment. It is recommended that patients go to the hospital in a timely manner and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
