What is “second-line endocrine therapy”?

  Second-line endocrine therapy is an endocrine treatment regimen used for hormone-non-dependent prostate cancer and consists of the following: 1. For patients treated with single depot therapy, add an anti-androgen drug.  2. For patients treated with combined androgen blockade therapy, discontinue the anti-androgen drugs.  3.A few patients can benefit from interchangeable anti-androgen drugs.  4.Adrenal androgen inhibitors.  5.Low doses of estradiol and megestrol.
