A thyroid nodule puncture is a test to determine if a thyroid nodule is malignant. The majority of patients have benign thyroid nodules, but there are a few patients who may have malignant nodules. Once a malignant tumor is suspected in a clinical setting, a biopsy of the tissue is required to make a clear diagnosis. Benign thyroid nodules that do not cause symptoms may not be treated, while malignant thyroid nodules should be treated according to the stage of the malignancy and the patient’s specific situation.
