OBJECTIVE: To investigate the application of laparoscopic Palomo procedure in the treatment of pediatric varicocele. METHODS: To summarize the results of the treatment of 85 children (aged 6-15 years, mean 11 years and 9 months) with varicocele using laparoscopic Palomo and the postoperative follow-up of all children from July 2007 to September 2011. RESULTS: All children in this group successfully underwent laparoscopic Palomo with a mean operative time of 20-50 min and a mean hospital stay of 5 d. Postoperative follow-up was 3-24 months with no recurrence. CONCLUSION: Laparoscopic Palomo is a safe and reliable surgical method.
