How to treat lumbar compression

When the compression of lumbar spine is mild, general treatment such as bed rest, physiotherapy, medication and other conservative treatments can be taken, while surgery can be taken when the damage is more serious. 1. Light injury: If the compression degree is within 1/3 and there is no obvious displacement, most of the patients can be cured after conservative treatment. For example, bed rest, wearing a waist cuff, physical therapy such as hot compresses during the recovery period, strengthening the low back muscle exercise, and the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain relievers such as Celecoxib, Loxoprofen and Ibuprofen when the pain is severe. 2. Heavy injury: if the compression degree is more than 1/3, or accompanied by fracture instability or spinal nerve injury, timely surgery is recommended. After surgery, bed rest is needed to restore the height of the compressed vertebrae and lumbar vertebrae stability, and during the recovery period, the lumbar back muscle exercise should be strengthened gradually under the guidance of the doctor. Lumbar spine compression is recommended to go to the hospital in time, early formal treatment, in order to reduce the adverse effects of the disease. Medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor.
