Can HPV58 positivity turn into cervical cancer?

HPV 58 positivity does not necessarily lead to cervical cancer afterwards. Among the cervical HPV tests, there are high-risk and low-risk infections. 58 is a high-risk infection, but among the high-risk infections, type 16 and type 18 are more closely related to cervical cancer, and 58 is slightly less related. If the cervical HPV 58 is found to be positive, a TCT of the cervix should be performed, and the results of the TCT should be used to decide whether to perform a colposcopic cervical biopsy. If there is any problem with the cervical biopsy, follow-up conical hysterectomy will be performed to detect cervical cancer and related precancerous lesions as early as possible.
