Intrauterine insemination with husband’s semen (AIH) technique Many patients in the clinic are very anxious to have a bad child in a short period of time, but fertility is a systematic project. If conception has not occurred within 2 years of regular intercourse, AIH can be one of the treatment options, taking into account the age of the woman and the fertility of the man. AIH means that before the female partner ovulates, the husband’s semen is washed and processed to remove dead sperm, white blood cells and antibodies from the seminal plasma and semen, and sperm of good quality are selected and injected into the uterine cavity through a catheter during the female partner’s ovulation, which has the effect of preferential sperm selection. It is mainly suitable for the following cases: 1. Patients with mild to moderate oligospermia, weak sperm; 2. Patients with semen non-liquefaction; 3. Patients with antibodies in cervical mucus or semen; 4. Patients with unexplained infertility 5. Patients whose husbands have erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and other sexual dysfunctions, or normal intercourse without ejaculation. However, the prerequisite is that at least 1 of the woman’s fallopian tubes is open and ovulation is occurring. The overall success rate of AIH is around 15%, with less impact on both partners and lower cost. However, many patients with unexplained infertility who are unsuccessful after AIH will need to consider further treatment strategies. In addition, the possibility of AIH has to be considered in the context of the actual situation of both men and women, and not all patients are suitable for artificial insemination.
