Osteosarcoma Lecture Series – When to return to normal after osteosarcoma treatment

  Do I need chemotherapy, or other treatment, after limb-preserving surgery?  The standardized treatment for osteosarcoma is neoadjuvant chemotherapy + surgical treatment. Therefore, follow-up chemotherapy needs to be completed after limb-preserving surgery. In addition, immunotherapy is now a more popular treatment in the oncology community. Children with osteosarcoma can go to school after finishing the full course of treatment. Generally, our hospital continues chemotherapy for 3-6 courses (about half a year) after surgery, and patients can go home to school or resume work when their functions are restored.
