In March 2015, a rainy afternoon, after a full day of busy work, the sisters in the emergency center all looked a little tired, but still carried out the handover in an orderly manner. It seemed that the sound of a 120 ambulance was coming from far to near again, which had become a professional habit. The triage nurse couldn’t help but go to the door and look, and sure enough, “Doctor, quick, quick, quick”, only to see a 120 emergency vehicle delivering an elderly man with an extremely gray face. The green channel was quickly opened and immediately entered the resuscitation room, a patient for cardiac arrest, the resuscitation team quickly launched a series of resuscitation measures: chest compressions, open airway, open venous access, resuscitation drugs …… But after more than half an hour of resuscitation, the heartbeat never recovered. We experience many sudden death patients in our emergency center every year, and have experienced two this week. The World Health Organization stipulates that death is sudden death within 6 hours after the onset of the disease. Sudden cardiac death is the most common, among which acute heart attack is the most common. To prevent sudden death and pay attention to health, a comprehensive health examination should be conducted once a year to observe changes in existing diseases and the presence of new diseases, and actively prevent and treat them. To prevent heart attack, stay away from and eliminate risk factors such as high blood pressure, high blood fat, diabetes, obesity and smoking. When a heart attack occurs, most patients usually have persistent chest pain for more than half an hour, and the pain is severe with a feeling of suffocation, near death, sweating, general weakness, some patients also have toothache, stomachache, headache or epigastric pain, etc. Patients with the above conditions should call 120 for emergency transport to the hospital. People with coronary heart disease should carry nitroglycerin with them to take immediately at the beginning of the attack to reduce the severity of the attack. If someone around you dies suddenly, don’t panic too much, be calm, first of all, call 120 as soon as possible, briefly explain the patient’s age, gender, onset time, onset symptoms, the specific location of the patient at the time of onset, to avoid delaying treatment. Correct the patient’s position, do not shake the patient, place him on the floor or hard bed as soon as possible so that the body is not distorted, face up, start CPR as soon as possible, untie the patient’s collar, expose the forehead, and start cardiac compressions (site: slightly below the midpoint of the sternum in the line of the two nipples), artificial respiration (note that the patient’s nose should be pinched when blowing) as soon as possible. Cardiac compressions palm root placed on the above site, the other hand on it, two hands parallel overlap, frequency 100 times / min, compressions blowing ratio of 30:2, waiting for the arrival of professionals. In conclusion, we should maintain a good living condition, reduce the causative factors, and once the body appears abnormal, go to the hospital for appropriate consultation and treatment in time to reduce the occurrence of sudden death events.
