Abstract: A 32-year-old female patient reported that she came to the hospital to seek help for a sudden pain in her right wrist that could not be relieved by resting one week ago and wanted to know the cause of the pain in her bones. Combined with the patient’s clinical symptoms and X-ray findings, she was diagnosed with benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone, which was controlled after surgery and medication. 【Basic information】 Female, 32 years old 【Disease type】 Histiocytoma (benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone) 【Hospitalization】 The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University 【Time of consultation】 September 2019 【Treatment plan】 Surgery (local lesion scraping) + intravenous medication (ceftriaxone sodium for injection) 【Treatment cycle】 In-hospital treatment for 7 days, and then monthly follow-up after discharge 【Treatment effect】 The condition has been controlled. The patient is a 32-year-old woman who reported that the pain in her right wrist had lasted for one week. Initially, she thought that the pain was caused by over-exertion or cold, and did not pay attention to it, but after resting and keeping warm, the pain in her right wrist was not alleviated, and she did not take any medication during this period. After detailed questioning, the patient was told that there was no history of hypertension or heart disease, and he was physically fit. After perfecting X-ray examination, the patient was diagnosed with benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone and admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with osteoid osteoma of the right wrist, which was eccentric in nature and had a clear boundary with the periphery, and the cortex of the bone was thin compared with that of normal people with the presence of sclerotic rims. The patient was told that the main cause of the recent pain was benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone, and that in order to avoid the progression of the disease, the treatment should be localized lesion curettage in a timely manner, and the patient expressed his understanding and signed the consent form for the surgery. After the patient was anesthetized, a linear incision was made at the patient’s right wrist, after which the patient’s lesion was cleaned up and a small bone block was implanted. During the operation, the patient’s vital body was stable, and the amount of blood loss was not much, and finally the surgical incision was closed, and the patient was sent back to the hospital room after he was awake and safe. In order to prevent the patient from secondary infection after surgery, I prescribed ceftriaxone sodium injection for the patient to carry out anti-infection treatment. The patient’s discomfort of right wrist pain was slowly decreasing after surgery and medication. On the 7th day of in-hospital treatment, the symptoms of right wrist pain disappeared without other adverse symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fever, malaise, etc., and her mental state, sleep and diet were normal. When perfecting the X-ray examination, there were no abnormalities such as osteolytic bone destruction, and the surgical incision had recovered well, so it was clear from the above that the patient’s condition had been under control and she was allowed to be discharged from the hospital. IV. Precautions When the patient was discharged from the hospital happily, I also felt very happy psychologically, and when I was discharged from the hospital, I told the patient that he should pay attention to the following points in his daily life: 1. The patient suffered from a benign tumor, and his condition was under good control after this active treatment, so he didn’t need to worry too much, and he should go to the doctor for rechecking on time every month. At the same time, the patient should keep an optimistic and positive attitude in daily life, and a good mood will help the disease to improve; 2. Because benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone has a large degree of bone destruction, so the patient should avoid large-scale sports or strenuous activities in daily life to prevent the secondary pathological fracture. The cause of benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone is unknown, which may be related to heredity, inflammation and other factors. Patients suffering from this kind of disease will show pain in femur, tibia and other bones, and when the human body is overexerted and the bones are cooled, they can also feel pain in the bones, and the two are easy to be confused, just like the patient in this case. However, bone pain caused by overexertion and cold bones will be relieved after rest and local warmth, while bone pain induced by benign fibrous histiocytoma of bone will not be relieved after the above treatments, and should be distinguished.
