Postoperative survival of pancreatic head cancer patients mainly depends on the tumor stage and the degree of tumor malignancy, which cannot be generalized. Pancreatic head cancer is a kind of pancreatic cancer, which is called pancreatic head cancer because the tumor grows in the pancreatic head area. Pancreatic head cancer has a higher degree of malignancy, poorer prognosis and shorter survival period. If patients have surgical indications, they can consider surgical treatment, and the one-year survival rate after surgery is about 40%, the three-year survival rate is about 30% or less, while the five-year or more survival rate is about 5% or less. If the patient is detected relatively early, the prognosis is better than for patients with advanced disease. If the patient is diagnosed late and cannot be treated surgically, the long-term prognosis is generally poorer. Surgical resection is the only possible cure for pancreatic head cancer, but pancreatic head cancer is usually detected at a late stage, so the possibility of cure is small. Therefore, regular medical checkup, early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment is one of the important measures to prolong the survival of pancreatic head cancer patients.
