What are the risks of hepatocellular liver cancer?

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (hereinafter referred to as hepatocellular carcinoma) is a malignant tumor originating from hepatocytes, and is one of the major malignant tumors in human beings. The mortality rate of liver cancer is very high, and the incidence rate of liver cancer in China is the highest in the world, and liver cancer is the second cancer killer in China and the third cause of cancer death in the world. The geographical distribution of liver cancer in China is characterized by higher incidence in coastal areas than inland areas and higher incidence in southeastern areas than in northwestern areas. Most of the high incidence areas are marine climate areas with warm and humid climate. The top five provinces from high to low mortality rate of liver cancer: Shanghai, Fujian, Jiangsu, Guangxi and Zhejiang. 2007 analysis report of causes of death of urban and rural residents in Fujian Province suggests that the top 5 malignant tumors among urban residents are: liver cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer and intestinal cancer, accounting for 71.9% of all malignant tumors. The top 5 malignant tumors among rural residents are: liver cancer, stomach cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer and intestinal cancer, accounting for 78.7% of all malignant tumors. In 2008, the analysis report on the causes of death of Xiamen residents shows that malignant tumor is still the first cause of death in the city, and the mortality rate of malignant tumor of the city residents is 141.75/100,000. 11.02/100,000. The top malignant tumors for men and women were liver cancer and lung cancer, with mortality rates of 49.63/100,000 and 15.42/100,000, respectively. Meanwhile, the national retrospective sample survey on causes of death showed that the mortality rate of liver cancer in Tongan District of our city still ranked the highest in the country. Liver cancer was the first cause of death of residents in our city in 2008, with a mortality rate of 31.46/100,000. The recurrence rate of liver cancer 1 year after surgery is about 40%, and the survival rate of liver cancer 5 years after surgery is only 18.4%. Recurrence and metastasis after hepatocellular carcinoma surgery, residual after local treatment and hepatocellular carcinoma vein thrombosis are the main factors affecting the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma patients.
