Many patients have inquired about the treatment of primary liver cancer after surgery, so I would like to share my views based on our hospital’s experience and the research and consensus on the postoperative treatment of primary liver cancer at home and abroad. Our attitude towards liver cancer is early treatment, active treatment and comprehensive treatment. The same applies to the treatment of liver cancer after recurrence. Patients should pay attention to three aspects after surgery: a Improvement and stability of liver function. b Prevention of recurrence of liver cancer. c Early detection of recurrence and selection of appropriate methods. 2.The first thing after surgery: good mentality, believe in science, doctors have many effective methods to deal with liver cancer, be confident in overcoming liver cancer, do not worry or give up on yourself. Many of our patients can survive for a long time after surgery, those who survive for more than 10 years are often seen, and those who survive for more than 5 years are many. 3.Prevention of recurrence: The recurrence rate of hepatocellular carcinoma is high after surgical resection. At present, a lot of work has been done at home and abroad in the prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma, and some of the more effective methods are: a preventive interventional therapy b anti-hepatitis B virus therapy c immunotherapy: such as the use of interferon, thymidine, etc. d molecular targeted therapy: such as sorafenib, etc. Of course the above methods need to be combined with the patient’s condition to choose the right method. Early detection of recurrence: a This plays an important role in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma after surgery, and I often communicate with patients before they are discharged from the hospital that regular review after surgery is very important. This is to detect the recurrence of liver cancer and deal with it as early as possible. There are many treatment methods: Surgery: if it can be removed surgically, it is considered the best choice; liver transplantation can also be chosen. Radiofrequency treatment: For those who are not suitable for surgical resection, radiofrequency treatment is the best method for recurrent liver cancer, but of course, not all patients are suitable for radiofrequency treatment, generally speaking, for those who have less than 3 liver cancers, the diameter of liver cancer is less than 3~5cm, and there is no serious ascites, radiofrequency treatment is the most suitable.
