Where is the future of Internet addicted teenagers?

There is such a group of children, they are obsessed with the Internet, forgetting to sleep and play games in Internet cafes, and even skip classes, drop out of school, and commit crimes. They are called “Internet-addicted teenagers”. Their obsession with the Internet has seriously affected their lives, studies and interpersonal interactions, and in medical terms their state is called “Internet addiction” or “Internet addiction syndrome”. Once Internet addiction is formed, it is very difficult to quit. They are hard and soft, and when the Internet at home has to be disconnected, they go to Internet cafes to play. Some of them are locked inside their homes by their parents, and they try to escape. They even save money for meals to pay for the Internet, no money is easy to borrow money, even at the expense of loan sharks, or simply steal. So, where is the future for these children? Will they ever get better? Their future depends on being able to effectively kick their Internet addiction. This is a two-way street leading to two directions. One is that the child cannot get rid of Internet addiction and continues to indulge in it, delaying school, achieving nothing, or even breaking the law, while the other is to successfully get rid of Internet addiction, learn self-discipline, and know how to get knowledge and wisdom from the Internet, and as a result, naturally have a bright future. So parents and teachers should not just hit and deny their children’s future, but find ways to help them successfully quit Internet addiction. First of all, you can’t deny the child who is addicted to the Internet all together, which is the most important thing to pay attention to. In the face of Internet addicted children, both parents and teachers often see their problematic behavior, even 24-hour supervision and management, and will dismiss them as worthless, or even scold and humiliate them. In fact, this often pushes the child into the abyss of low self-esteem, and they instead indulge in games to find satisfaction and excitement. We have helped children with Internet addiction become excellent networkers who are far more sensitive to and capable of grasping the Internet than the average person. If their Internet strengths are destroyed in one stroke, and they are not competent in other areas and lack self-confidence, it is easy for them to revive and go from one extreme to another. This is also one of the factors why quitting Internet addiction is not successful. Secondly, cultivate good psychological quality and perfect character in your child, which is the foundation of Internet addiction cessation. The reason why children form Internet addictive behavior is often because they have not formed a good character and values and lack good pursuits in life. They easily retreat from difficulties in life and study and fail to develop interpersonal relationships well. However, at present, both our family education and school education, although advocating quality education, some parents and teachers still pay too much attention to children’s cultural grades and rankings, so that learning becomes boring, while neglecting children’s hobbies, life skills and interpersonal skills training, and the shaping of good character. Children’s dreams become “to get into a good university”, “to find a good job”, “to stop suffering”. This is such a terrible misguidance. A child’s dream should be “to become a useful person for the family, society and the country”. Finally, helping children develop other abilities and self-confidence is the key to quitting Internet addiction. In fact, these children often have an empty heart and lack of self-confidence after leaving the Internet. Because of the education system, such as good and bad schools, good and bad classes, and even the same classmates are divided into good and bad, those students who are classified as “bad” will break down and simply stop studying if they cannot actively and effectively deal with these challenges and traumas. So we need to reverse this self-imposed thinking. We once had a junior high school girl who was an Internet addict, she was articulate and polite, and we steered her toward broadcasting and hosting, and she quickly found the confidence to surpass kids her age, and she was willing from the bottom of her heart to be a good broadcaster in the future. Obviously she knew that indulging herself in the Internet would not fulfill her wishes, and it became her own business to restrain her online behavior. There are no two leaves in the world that are the same, and every child has its own characteristics and strengths. There are always a thousand horses, but there are not always borns. Whether or not parents and educators can truly teach their children according to their abilities and find the bright spots in them is a very crucial part of successfully quitting Internet addiction. However, the most difficult thing about quitting Internet addiction is that children simply do not listen to their parents and teachers. The above three principles and methods sometimes cannot be implemented well, and parents cannot change their education methods on a whim, so it is important to take the child to a psychological counseling teacher in time to do psychological counseling, and if necessary, send the child to a special school for short-term custodial training. Of course, parents should choose the right school, because the educational philosophy and methods of different schools still differ greatly. Facing children with Internet addiction requires extra wisdom to help them, and requires a blend of education, psychology, art and other multidisciplinary expertise. Through the change of environment, through the leadership of psychological teachers, through the implantation of positive thinking, to improve self-confidence, to find their future direction, from the beginning of being forced to quit Internet addiction to the later conscious and active behavior of quitting. If the education and training are ideal, these children will not only get rid of their Internet addiction, but they will also surpass themselves, gaining independence, self-confidence, and the ability to face difficulties, and even surpass their peers, because they know more about the importance of comprehensive ability and the meaning of self-management. The Internet is not scary, and neither is Internet addiction. A child who is not exposed to the Internet will not develop Internet addiction, but he will definitely become another kind of closure that we do not want to see. Allow your child to make mistakes and give them the opportunity to correct them. A child who once fell into Internet addiction and successfully overcame it must be a good child, and their future will be even more exciting!
