Precautions after cataract surgery

1, more bed rest, gentle movements, do not rub the eyes; speak softly, control coughing and sneezing.

2.Patients with double eye surgery generally adopt a supine position after surgery; monocular patients can lie on their side towards the healthy eye; those with chronic bronchitis, emphysema and the elderly and frail should lie in a semi-recumbent position.

3.If there is a sharp decrease in visual acuity, persistent eye pain, blood oozing and discharge within one week after surgery, the doctor should be informed in time to find out the cause and deal with the problem.

4.Keep the bowel movement smooth, eat more coarse fiber food, such as leek and celery, and eat more fruits; do not force the bowel movement, and prohibit smoking and drinking after surgery; if you have no bowel movement for two days or have difficulty in defecation, you can give laxatives.

5. Do not wash your hair and do not enter dirty water in your eyes for one week after surgery, so as to cause eye infection for free.

2.Use eye drops strictly according to the doctor’s prescription, pay attention to clean hands before ordering drops and do not rub the eye.

3.The optometrist should be available 3~6 months after surgery.

4.Prohibit strenuous activities, head down and picking up things, etc.

5.With systemic diseases (such as diabetes, hypertension, etc.) still need to continue to do treatment to control the disease so as not to cause other complications of the eye affect vision.

6. If the condition of the first eye is normal on the third day after surgery, the second eye surgery can be considered.
