Initial manifestations of hydrocephalus in babies

Infantile hydrocephalus is a pathological manifestation of abnormal cerebrospinal fluid absorption, which can have the initial manifestation of increased intracranial pressure, restlessness and drowsiness. 1. The head circumference is larger or grows faster than normal for the same age, and the fontanelle is larger and closes later. 2. Reactions are somewhat sluggish and hypersensitive, with poor mobility of the arms and legs, and very slow or no reaction to color and light. 3. The body appears stiff or slightly weak. The mother will have the distinct feeling that the child has a cold and fever. During the first trimester, the child’s head circumference increases abnormally and is accompanied by convulsions. Clinical manifestations include headache, nausea, vomiting, and visual disturbances. Hydrocephalus has a great impact on children, and without timely treatment, it can easily lead to death, so parents must pay great attention to their children’s hydrocephalus, and go to the hospital early to confirm the diagnosis and early treatment. Each child has different symptoms, but it is important to find abnormalities and go to the hospital early.
