Whether or not you can recover from spinal cord vascular rupture paraplegia needs to be determined by the extent of the spinal cord injury. A complete spinal cord injury can be difficult to treat, while an incomplete spinal cord injury can have varying degrees of recovery. The degree of spinal cord injury can be categorized as complete or incomplete. In a complete spinal cord injury, there is no sensation or movement below the injury level, and there is no bowel control. Incomplete spinal cord injuries are those where there is some sensation and movement below the injury and some degree of bowel control. Some studies have shown that if the spinal cord injury is incomplete, about 50% of the patients can regain their muscle strength up to grade 3 and can basically perform daily activities. For patients with a complete spinal cord injury, the chance of recovery is less than 1%. However, most patients with spinal cord injuries do not fully return to normal in terms of sensory and motor deficits. Patients with paraplegia caused by spinal cord blood vessel rupture need to undergo standardized treatment under the guidance of professional doctors to restore their body functions and improve their ability to take care of themselves.
