How to perform surgery for acute appendicitis

Surgical treatment of acute appendicitis is usually divided into traditional open surgical treatment, and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical treatment. In traditional open surgery, a 10-15 cm incision is usually made in the right lower abdomen near the McKinsey point, the skin and subcutaneous tissue are cut, then the peritoneum is cut, the abdominal muscles are separated, the abdominal cavity is entered, the inflamed appendix is found, a purse suture is made at the root of the appendix, the suture is tied, then the appendix is cut, the abdominal cavity and the wound are flushed, and the sutures are closed layer by layer. In the case of minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, a 1-2 cm incision is usually made in the navel and both lower abdomen, and the laparoscope is inserted into the abdominal cavity through the incision to find the appendix and remove it directly.
