Discontinuation of medication in manic patients

Standardized treatment for manic patients: 2 months of acute treatment, the dose is the dose adjusted by outpatient or inpatient, and the dose will not be reduced if there are no serious and tolerable side effects. Consolidation period treatment for 6 months, the dose is the same as the acute treatment dose. Maintenance phase treatment for 6 months, first-episode patients adjust the medication in the outpatient clinic, and may try to gradually reduce the dose until discontinuation. Patients with multiple episodes of maintenance treatment dose can be gradually and moderately reduced, and long-term maintenance treatment is recommended. Studies have shown that drug reduction is more likely to lead to disease relapse than no reduction, so drug reduction should be carefully weighed against the pros and cons.
