Chest tightness with tingling in the hands and feet should be ruled out as a cause of cardiac neurosis. Cardiac neurosis is a condition of heart discomfort that is mainly caused by psychiatric disorders. For a definitive diagnosis, it is important to rule out organic pathologies, such as angina pectoris or hypertension. If the cardiovascular disease is accompanied by diabetes, it is relatively easy to have tingling in the hands and feet. Hypertension with hyperlipidemia, or coronary artery disease with hyperlipidemia, may also cause similar discomfort. Because problems such as hyperlipidemia or diabetes may cause numbness in the hands and feet. Psychological disorders may also induce discomfort. Patients are advised to have appropriate tests, such as electrocardiogram, chest X-ray, serum ion, thyroid function, blood lipids, kidney function, and blood sugar, to help further clarify the diagnosis.
