Radiofrequency ablation therapy is a new method with minimally invasive, high efficacy, low recurrence rate and low price, which is mainly used to treat liver cancer, and some metastatic cancers with poor chemotherapy effect can also be performed.
1. Indications
(1) Single tumor with maximum diameter less than 7cm, 2-3 tumors with maximum diameter less than 3cm (<5cm is feasible for palliative treatment);
(2) Patients who cannot tolerate systemic chemotherapy or other local treatment, or those who do not have significant efficacy after interventional treatment;
(3) Tumor growth control before liver transplantation and recurrence after liver tumor resection or transplantation;
(4) Single metastatic carcinoma in the liver with maximum diameter less than 6cm; multiple carcinomas less than or equal to 5, one of which has a maximum diameter <4cm can be treated in stages;
(5) Pre-cancerous liver lesions or tumors prone to malignant transformation (e.g. adenoma, hyperplastic nodules);
(6) liver function grade A or B, part of grade C has been significantly improved by liver preservation treatment and the tumor is tiny
2. Contraindications for radiofrequency ablation
(1) The boundary is not clear, the tumor is >5cm in extent and is infiltrated by multiple nodes;
(2) The tumor invades the large blood vessels in the hepatic portal;
(3) Tumor located on the visceral surface of the liver >4cm, tumor protruding from the surface of the liver, and tumor in the caudate lobe;
(4) The tumor is located in the main trunk of portal vein, primary branch or hepatic vein, and has severe extrahepatic metastasis;
(5) No improvement in liver function after hepatoprotective treatment (persistent massive ascites, jaundice, etc.);
(6) Obvious vital organ failure, such as heart and kidney;
(7) Active infection, especially biliary co-infection;
(8) history of repeated rupture of esophagogastric varices and bleeding.
In addition, the following patients should be carefully selected for radiofrequency ablation treatment.
(1) Patients with cardiac pacemakers or severe aneurysms;
(2)Those who are equipped with intrahepatic and hepatoportal vessels and bile duct stents.
3.For RF ablation outpatient treatment
Please bring the following recent test reports.
(1)CT/MRI examination film and report card;
(2) Blood routine, coagulation function and blood biochemical test results;
(3) Tumor markers related to this disease, such as AFP, CEA, CA125, CA199, etc;
(4) For the treatment of metastatic liver cancer and primary liver tumors, it is important to bring relevant information of previous primary lesions, such as surgery records or pathology reports;
(5) For those who need ultrasound examination, please visit the doctor on an empty stomach.
