How old is menopause?

Most women experience menopause around the age of 49. The age at which menopause occurs varies from woman to woman, depending on a variety of factors such as genetic inheritance, living environment, and endocrine hormone levels. Most women go through menopause around the age of 49, while a few begin to experience a decline in ovarian function after the age of 40, resulting in hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, depression, and other symptoms of low estrogen during menopause. Women who experience menstrual disorders after the age of 40 should be alert to the onset of menopause and can undergo blood tests for sex hormones to assess ovarian function, and can undergo pharmacological interventions to delay the onset of other symptoms of menopause or the rapid decline of ovarian function and smooth out menopause.
